Overview

Voltaren, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), is indicated for the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain, and primary dysmenorrhea. Voltaren is available in several strengths: 10mg/mL, 20mg/mL, and 40mg/mL. The most common side effect of Voltaren is an upset stomach, although other side effects are possible. Patients should be warned that if any of these symptoms persist or worsen, the use of Voltaren is contraindicated.

Voltaren Side Effects

The following side effects have been reported in patients receiving Voltaren:

• nausea and vomiting
• fatigue
• constipation
• increased blood pressure
• blisters or ulcers
• burning sensation

Symptoms of Voltaren in a patient receiving Voltaren include:

• anxiety

Dosage

The dosage can be increased to 20 mg/mL once daily or decreased to 5 mg/mL orally once daily.

Interactions

Precautions

Do not use Voltaren for the following reasons:

• if you are allergic to Voltaren, aspirin, or other NSAIDs
• if you are taking a medicine called diclofenac or other NSAIDs
• if you are taking an MAO inhibitor
• if you are taking an MAO inhibitor or other NSAIDs
• if you are taking warfarin or other blood thinners

How to use Voltaren
